You’re All Set If You Know This

  • To request disability-related accommodations, please complete this form.
     For your guest who is a wheelchair user or needs ASL interpretation, please do not register for a ticket for them or accompanying guest(s). Please email convocation@tc.columbia.edu, and we will provide you with accessible seating tickets.
  • Teachers College is committed to ensuring that all TC Convocation events are accessible to guests, students, faculty, and staff. 
  • The Office of Access and Services for Individuals with Disabilities (OASID) works closely with the TC Convocation office to coordinate all access needs. 
  • During Convocation events, OASID staff, volunteers, and TC Public Safety officers will be on hand to assist guests.
  • Individuals with questions regarding accessibility are encouraged to contact OASID at oasid@tc.edu, (212) 678-3689, (212) 678-3853 TTY, (646) 755-3144 video phone, as early as possible to request reasonable accommodations, including, but not limited to, sign language interpreters, wheelchair access, and Braille or large print programs.

 

Candidates

Candidates who have questions regarding access to the venue, or anticipate an access need (whether it be a physical need, as a ramp, or a language need, as a CART provider or sign language interpreter) while at the venue should contact the Office of Access and Services for individuals with Disabilities (OASID) as early as possible to discuss appropriate arrangements.

Columbia University's Second Disability Affinity Graduation

Sunday, April 21, 2024 | Wang Pavilion at Lerner Hall

Grads & guests are welcome to attend this celebration of Columbia's amazing graduates with disabilities. The celebration will include:

  • Remarks by Bri Scalesse, Columbia University alumnus, model and disability advocate;
  • Awards will be presented to outstanding disability activists in different categories;
  • Grads will receive disability-affirming stoles. To ensure that you get a stole, please register below by Wednesday, March 6th at 11:59 pm.
  • The event will last approximately two hours and light refreshments will be served. 
  • The event is also available via Zoom. Guests who want to attend via Zoom should complete the registration form. Organizers will send the Zoom link closer to the event date.
