Graduates and guests are required to pre-register for their ceremony between April 7th and 21st. Walk-ins will not be allowed.
Each ceremony will be live streamed. Links will be available on the Convocation website the morning of the ceremonies - May 17 & 18, 2027.

Timing
- Ticket registration opens on Wednesday, April 7, 2027 @ 12:00 noon and closes on Wednesday, April 21, 2027 @ 5:00 p.m.
- If there are extra tickets available, they will be made available beginning on Wednesday, April 28, 2027 at 12:00 noon and will remain available until all tickets are claimed.
Registering For Tickets
- You will need to know your T number in order to register for tickets. You can find your T number by going to myTC > Go To My Personal Information. Note: This number is only on myTC not on your ID card.
- Graduates must register to attend even if they don't expect to bring guests. Walk in grads and/or guests will not be permitted.
Quantity
- Each eligible grad can register for up to 5 guest tickets in the first offering.
- Grads may be able to secure additional guest tickets through the lottery process. Lottery tickets are not guaranteed.
Grad Pass
- Grads will receive an email to download their Grad Pass via Tassel which will be used along with their TCID or another government issued ID document (i.e.: passport, driver’s license)for entry into the United Palace Theater. Grad Passes will be available to grads on Monday, May 10th. Note: You will need to allow pop-ups to download to your Apple Wallet.
If You Want to Know More
- Tickets are electronic and will be made available through boletosexpress.com.
- Once you receive your tickets, you can forward the email to your guests and they can either print them out to be scanned at the United Palace or, the ticket bar code and be scanned from their device.
- Children who are young enough to sit comfortably on lap do not need a ticket.
Ticket Lottery Overview
- If there are unclaimed tickets they will be made available by lottery on a first-come, first-served basis by ceremony on Wednesday, April 28, 2027.
- Tickets will be continually offered via lottery until all are claimed. All tickets are electronic and will be received at the time of registration via email from boletosexpress.com.
- An important note: lottery tickets are not guaranteed and are only available if there are unused tickets in a particular ceremony.
Attending Breaking New Ground: Diversity & First Generation Celebration for Families
- All eligible grads will receive an invitation to attend the Breaking New Ground: Diversity & First Generation Celebration for Families on Monday, April 12, 2027.
- You will be able to register for up to 4 guests.
- There are no tickets for this event; however, pre-registration is required.
- Guests will be asked to check in at the registration desk upon arrival at Cowin Auditorium.
Accessible Seating Tickets
TC’s goal for Convocation is that grads and their guests have the most enjoyable experience possible. To that end, we ask grads to think about their guest group and alert us of any accommodations they or you as a grad may require for the ceremony. Find out more about accessible tickets here.
Special Notice: Teachers College Ticket Policy
Teachers College Convocation is a free event, and all tickets are distributed at no cost. These tickets may not be advertised for sale or purchased under any circumstances. Please note that under New York State law, it is illegal to resell tickets that were originally offered to the public for free. Legislation enacted in 2022 prohibits the resale of free tickets for profit, and violations may be enforced by the New York State Attorney General.
Beyond legal considerations, selling tickets runs counter to the spirit of the TC community. Tickets are provided so that graduates can share this important milestone with their loved ones, not for financial gain.
Additionally, the sale or purchase of Columbia University Commencement tickets is strictly prohibited. Graduates found to be selling tickets may face serious consequences, including removal from participation in ceremonies and the potential withholding of their diploma or degree certification.
